Those considering renewing or purchasing subscriptions are encouraged to make a purchase before June 17, as donation requirements will gradually increase over the next three seasons. Have seats in lower price categories been moved to higher price tiers?

Customers whose 2021-22 seats will be moved out of the Husky Value price range for next season will be offered their seat from last season at the Husky Value price if that seat is not purchased at the increased 2022-23 price during of the upgrade and renewal process.

What was the reaction of fans to the increase in ticket prices?

Fans in Connecticut and neighboring states find the price increase unmanageable. For example, Cape Cod resident Jeff Dawson has two season tickets for games at the XL Center and Gampel Pavilion. He said he paid about $1,300, including about $500 in donations, last year. Next year’s amount, according to a renewal statement he provided, will increase to $1,965 in total (including $970 in donations).

“I think it’s 100% absolutely outrageous,” Dawson said. “I have no problem donating to the athletic department, but you can’t force me to pay them $900, plus my tickets, so I can keep my seats.”

Mary Brown, a New Hampshire resident and 2008 UConn graduate, works for a company in New Haven and was planning to become a season ticket holder next year.
“I was so excited about it, but now, absolutely not,” she said. “It’s such a slap in the face, because it’s such an exciting time to be a UConn fan, to be back in the Big East.”
