Nassarawa Governor promises adequate security to Tiv community


Nassarawa State Governor, Engr Abdullahi Sule has promised to provide adequate security to the Tiv community in the state, which has been hampered by insecurity which has affected their farming activities.

Mr. Sule made it known on Thursday when the Tiv Nation under the Development Association, TIDA members in Nasarawa visited the government house to endorse Governor Sule.

While responding to his endorsement by the Tiv ahead of his 2023 gubernatorial bid, Sule said the Tiv people of Nasarawa have suffered greatly.

The governor expressed his joy at the restoration of peace to the Tiv Nation in the state, noting that it was part of his campaign promise.

The Tiv of Nasarawa State are part of the State and should be treated as natives.

“I told my counterpart Governor Samuel Otom to always refer Tiv related issues to me in Nasarawa.
“We are attentive to the Tiv of Nasarawa because they have gone through very difficult times in the past and I would not like that to happen again.

“Let us forgive where we have hurt each other and live together as one people.

While thanking the Tiv people for supporting him, he warned them against politicians who make their fortunes through deception not to listen to them.

In his address, TIDA President, Comrade Peter Ahemba commended Governor Sule for bringing peace to the Tiv communities of Nasarawa.

Peter assured Governor Sule that the Tiv people would give him a one hundred percent vote in 2023 because he stood with the Tiv people when he was abandoned by everyone.

In his remarks, Prof. Emmanuel Kucha said Mr. Sule has shown love to Tiv communities by providing peace and a conducive environment.

“Today, the displaced Tiv have returned to their agricultural occupation like never before.

“Tiv nation says AA Sule 2023 Carry go. Sule is the savior of the Tiv people in Nasarawa State.

“The Tiv would no longer be deceived by any politician. The marriage between Sule and the Tiv in Nasarawa, no one can dissolve it.

State Tivs are resolved to support and vote Sule as Governor in 2023 because he has proven himself as a worthy leader.
