International investment consultations to promote Georgia as the “best place to invest”, praise the “easiest procedures” for starting a business in the country


A group of international investment consultants, on a working visit to Georgia as part of USAID’s Economic Security Program, pledged to promote the country as the “best place in the world” to invest and showcasing the “procedures easiest way” to start a business.

Guest professionals are welcomed by Business Georgia – a state initiative to promote entrepreneurship – with the aim of establishing the country’s investment potential.

Sean Goforth, one of the 13 consultants, said he was “impressed” with Georgia. Praising the country’s “high quality of life and proximity to markets in Europe, the Middle East and Asia”, the consultant pledged to inform investors of the “profitable offers” made to them by the Georgian authorities after their return to North America.

Introduced to the National Entrepreneurship Success Stories, fellow consultant Jerry Szatan said there were “a number of examples of foreign companies having expanded their businesses in Georgia”, adding that “the ease of starting a business in the country is one of the great advantages”.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday, several other consultants described Georgia as an “ideal gateway between Central Europe and Asia” and “a very attractive place for international investors” with a “favorable business environment”. .

In more detail, Enterprise Georgia chief Mikheil Khidureli said the delegation included consultants from the United States, Europe and Asia for meetings with consulting firms, business associations, donors, international organizations and foreign companies operating in Georgia to discuss investment opportunities in the country.

According to international practice, this is one of the most effective ways to attract more foreign investment to the country and to attract specific companies. Thanks to such successful cooperation with international consultants, Georgia is increasingly appearing on the map of large companies and large investors,” Khidureli said.

He also noted that the consultants involved in the familiarization tour were global companies seeking investment locations and facilities around the world.

The consultants, who arrived in Georgia last week, are due to travel to eastern and western regions of Georgia, Kakheti and Kutaisi, where they will meet with representatives of various agencies and organizations, receive information and discuss investment opportunities in a number of industries.
